This three-day interactive training offers basic fundamentals and introductory skills for advocates serving domestic violence survivors and their children. You'll learn about the history of the domestic violence movement and ways to become more culturally humble and inclusive. The training teaches survivor-defined advocacy and strategies for risk management, crisis intervention and safety-planning. You'll also get an overview of the complex civil and criminal justice system and learn about Ohio's Crime Victim Compensation program. Come with a desire to explore difficult topics, share with others, have some fun and leave with new knowledge to work effectively with survivors and children experiencing domestic violence.
This hybrid training consists of 18 hours of in-person training and 6 hours of online learning. After you've registered, you'll receive a link to register for the online learning portion.
