Please join OVWA, Elizabeth Well, Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center (OCVJC) Legal Director, Latina Bailey, Crime Victim Rights Attorney, OCVJC, and Micalea Deming, Micaela Deming, Esq., Domestic Violence Civil Attorney and Trainer, to learn about the many systems in which advocacy for children is necessitated. As a foundation for Part 2 - Advanced Advocacy Skills, this training will outline legal operational differences and considerations in advocacy for children/juveniles in the adult criminal justice system, in the juvenile court system regarding victims of crime by juvenile offenders, protection orders and child custody cases, and in the family court (domestic relations) systems. We will discuss crime victim rights as they apply to children as well as gain an understanding of the complexities of each system and how they may intersect. This webinar is pre-approved for 3.5 CEU's from the State of Ohio CSWMFTB and OVWA training programs are pre-approved through both the Ohio Advocate Network and the National Advocate Credentialing Program. If you require accommodations, please email us at info@ovwa.org no later than one week prior to the webinar.
