Please join Please join OVWA and Samantha Salamon, Program Manager of the Ahimsa Department and Managing Attorney for Legal Services Department, ASIA (Asian Services in Action), to learn about the professional role interpreters play in providing accessible services to victims of crime, best practices and guidance for securing and working with interpreters, an overview of federal law on accessibility for those whose preferred language or 1st language is other than English, regulations regarding court interpreters, and specific guidelines in the use of interpreters while navigating cultural differences regarding crime victimizations including domestic violence and sexual assault.This webinar is pre-approved for 1.5 CEU's from the State of Ohio CSWMFTB and OVWA training programs are pre-approved through both the Ohio Advocate Network and the National Advocate Credentialing Program.
