This caucus focuses on understanding the risk factors for youth trafficking. Factors such as youth maltreatment, not having a safe home, experiencing family conflict, or identifying as LGBTQIA+ affect youth and teens who may experience exploitation. In addition, you will learn about a variety of techniques employed by traffickers to lure youth.

Join Rebekkah O'Bryan from the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Office of Criminal Justice Services as she provides an interactive simulation where you will navigate various scenarios as a youth facing commercial sexual exploitation. This activity helps participants gain a thorough understanding of human trafficking and the ways it presents itself in our communities. You will learn many of the nuanced factors that render youth victims vulnerable to exploitation.

Presenter: Rebekkah O’Bryan, LSW, Anti-Trafficking Grant Coordinator, Ohio Department of Public Safety, Office of Criminal Justice Services
