What is this?
Join ODVN during Black History Month as we discuss creating intentional space for necessary conversations about racism. White supremacy is an oppressive tool deeply rooted in our societal systems, including our policies, communities, and even our own organizations. It is well beyond time that we address the everyday ways that racism pervades the experiences of Black, Indigenous, People of Color who are survivors and learn the skills to have necessary conversations to confront oppressive policies, language, and actions.
Esteemed experts and panelists in this training will lay the groundwork for starting and holding conversations about racism within our professional spaces. Participants will learn best-practices to use their positions of privilege and power to challenge both systemic and internalized racism and move through the discomfort that may arise. Instead of being paralyzed, you will become empowered to create change.
Cost: Free for ODVN Members (ODVN Member Program or Individual/Organizational Membership); $25 for Non-ODVN Members. ***Note: If paying by check, please include the name of the training on the memo line.
CEUs: To obtain 2.5 CEUs, you are required to attend the entire training and complete the evaluation and Certificate Request form within 24 hours of the training. When you register, please include your complete license number if you are a licensed counselor or social worker in Ohio.
Deadline to Register: Monday, February 20, 2023
American Sign Language interpreters will be available.
Note: This training is hosted by ODVN. If you have any questions, please contact ODVN directly.
